Beware of Europcar France! They cheat their customers. I rented a car from Europcar(Versaille Paris office) in Sept 08. they charged me an extra 44eu without my signature authorization claiming the gas was not filled up (which was a lie). As it turned out my french friend had the same experience: she was overcharged 100eu for "not" filled up, again, it was a lie. After 3 letters and emails complaint, they simply ignored and never responded to my request.

That's terrible. I've used Europcar twice in Jerusalem and had a good experience. Normally I would say that one branch isn't representative of an entire company - for bad or for good - but you just knocked off the entire French arm with your nightmare.

Sorry you needed to learn this for the rest of us :(

Thanks for the warning Dave, that's one hire company I'll never be using. I've generally had good experiences with www.carhire3000.com.
